10 worst videogames that got unfairly good reviews

Assassin’s Creed III

Widely regarded as the worst Assassin’s Creed game that has ever made it out Ubisoft’s front door, Assassin’s Creed 3 was a huge disappointment. The concept was really cool- a Native American kid learns of his assassin’s heritage in the midst of one of the most turbulent periods of American history, the Revolutionary War.

Unfortunately, America at the time was pretty lacking in good structures to scale and jump off of into hay bales. The grandeur of past settings like Rome and Constantinople was nowhere to be found in Revolutionary-era America. Since the gameplay of the series revolves so heavily around free-running and climbing, the rather 2-dimensional setting of 18th century America was a poor choice by Ubisoft. It still got good reviews though. Somehow.

Well, there you have it- 10 games that were just as disappointing as going to Six Flags at age 6 only to realize you aren’t tall enough to do anything fun.
