7. Thor: God of Thunder
Thor: God of Thunder is another game that features on our list of ’15 worst games ever made’. The game based on Marvel Studios film Thor was published by Sega and developed by Liquid Entertainment, Red Fly Studios and WayForward Technologies for different platforms. The action game was released on May 2011 for Nintendo DS, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360 and Nintendo 3DS platforms.
Most of the reviews of Thor: God of Thunder were unfavorable. The game rated a paltry 38 and 39 out of 100 for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions respectively on Metacritic. On the other hand GameSpot gave just 2 out of 10 for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 version of the games, whereas GameRankings gave the Xbox 360 version of the game 39.17% and the PlayStation 3 version 39.73%. This explains how bad the game was.
8. Duke Nukem Forever
Duke Nukem Forever is the fourth installment of the Duke Nukem series and is a sequel to the 1996 release Duke Nukem 3D. Published by 2K games, Duke Nukem Forever was developed by a total of four studios altogether. The game was started by 3D Realms and Triptych Games while Gearbox Software and Piranha Games finished it off.
The game received extremely bad reviews upon its release. The critics claimed that the game took a lot of time to load, had old fashioned controls, offensive humor, and an outdated design. A lot of critics even pointed out at the weak shooting mechanics and level designs of the game and compared them to the previous installments of the series, which were much better. The PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of the game were given 48.52%, 49.36% and 47.6% respectively by GameRankings while Metacritic gave 54/100, 49/100 and 51/100.
9. Postal III
Postal III is the third game of the Postal series and is a sequel to Postal 2 which was released in 2003. Postal III was developed by Trashmasters and published by Akella was released in 2011 for PC. It is one of lowest ranked games in the history.
The reviews of the games were very poor with the game scoring only 24 out of 100 in Metacritic. To add to that Game Informer gave the game just 1 out of 10 rating points while PC gamer gave a meager 21 out of 100 adding that the game is only based on two words “suck” and “blow”. The game was also criticized for its attempt to be offensive, poor AI, slow loading time and lack of mission variety. The Computer and Video Games magazine adjudged Postal III as one of the twelve worst video games of all time in 2013.
