Amy Hennig New Creative Director For EA’s Visceral Games Studio

Not too long ago we posted that Amy Hennig had left the Naughty Dog team. Amy had a hand at developing the Uncharted series for those who are unaware. Now Amy has a brand new creative director spot, this time at EA’s Visceral Games studio where her primary game in the works happens to be Star Wars related.

News broke through EA’s blog where we learn that Visceral Games studio general manager, Steve Papoutis, was one among several trying to get in touch with Amy in hopes of her joining a development team. With several offers on the table, Amy Hennig decided to take the EA job offer in-order to have a helping hand in a unannounced Star Wars title.

“Over the last few weeks, Amy and I have spent a lot of time talking about what her first project would be. There are a lot of different directions we could have gone, but I could sense that what really excited her about this opportunity (because let’s face it, we weren’t the only ones knocking at her door) was Star Wars,” Papoutsis said. “Amy’s a huge fan. We happen to be making a Star Wars game. Just thinking about the possibilities made both of us even more excited about having her join the team.”

It’s not clear as to why Amy had left Naughty Dog. There’s rumors suggesting she was forced out but Amy did take up to Twitter to express her overall enjoyment in working with EA. She mentions that 1977 had a huge impact in her life with the opening of Star Wars and the Atari 2600 and now she has a hand at making something really extraordinary.
