Battlefield 1‘s They Shall Not Pass DLC is now live. The new update includes new multiplayer maps, weapons, and more.
According to the developer, one of the new vehicles features in the first expansion is a french tank called the Char 2C. The Char2C is a 70 ton, 10 meters long vehicle war machine, despite having the physical appearance of a tank, the game ironically does not classify the Char 2C as one.
Instead, the new vehicle is classified as a ‘Behemoth,’ meaning that this mega-machine will appear into a match and will only spawn for the losing team. This new feature could be a way to increase competitiveness in matches and give the losing team another chance at turning the match around.
The Char 2C is equipped with a 75mm gun, along with a few machine guns tacked on. The vehicle can carry approximately five people, the driver of the machine will take control of the main cannon. Additionally, the other four seats are available for a forward gunner, a ball turret on each side, as well as a rear turret.
In terms of gameplay, the vehicle is extremely overpowered. With a powerful main gun, that can two-shot normal tanks, along with the capability to disable other vehicles and its weapons, this vehicle can certainly change the tide of a match depending on the losing team’s skill and desire to win.
You can check out some gameplay on the Char 2C below. Battlefield 1 is out now for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The game’s first expansion, They Shall Not Pass is now available for Premium members, while everyone else will receive it on March 28th.
