Craziest Things That Happened On YouTube In 2018

YouTube is no stranger to controversy and 2018 has been no different. Here’s some of the craziest thing the platform and its stars went through this year.

Logan Paul and the Suicide Forest

Technically this happened at the back end of 2017, but the backlash went on well into 2018. We all know this one by now – Logan filmed himself with a dead body in Japan’s ‘Suicide Forest,’ before going on to p*ss off the whole world with his insensitive videos filmed in and around the country.

After YouTube came under increasing pressure from the online community they cut some of their business ties with the content creator.

Unfortunately for some, Logan Paul still remains one of the biggest stars of the year, and his earlier indiscretions don’t seem to have put a dent in his future.

Armed fan invades YouTubers’ home and takes shots

Famous YouTube personalities Megan Turney and Gavin Free were forced to hide in their own home and call the police in January this year after an armed fan managed to enter their home holding a handgun.

He then let off “at least one round inside the house”. Later in the day after leaving the house the invader was shot dead by police in the YouTube couple’s front yard.

Terrifying and crazy.

A YouTuber named “Feminazi Killer Knight” started uploading videos showing various ways of killing women in Red Dead Redemption 2, titled with things like “Just the daily feminist torture.”

In a description of the channel (spotted on Reddit), the page states: “This guy will be uploading only killing and torturing women in a game called Red Dead Redemption 2. I am here to promote that we men still have our free speech and won’t be controlled by feminists and their sjw agenda we do and think what we want and specially don’t f*ckin mess with our video games period.”

At the time of writing, the channel is still up and running. Sigh.

Logan Paul Vs. KSI

Another one that needs no explanation, 2018 was the ‘fight of the century’ between YouTubers KSI and Logan Paul.

Over 1 million people tuning into the fight, which took place in Manchester, UK, only to see the two reach a draw, leading to calls for refunds from fans.

The fights were available to watch via YouTube, where tuning in would cost you £7.50.

Another fight is scheduled for 2019.

Subscribe To PewDiePie

This year PewDiePie nearly lost his title of Most Subscribed YouTuber to T-Series, and fans weren’t happy.

From hiring the biggest billboard in NYC to get people to subscribe to Pewds, to diss tracks, rap battles and more, Subscribe To PewDiePie is the biggest meme of the end of 2018.

In a last-ditch attempt to really push those subscriber numbers for Pewds, someone’s actually hacked printers all over the world – and is getting them to print out pages advertising PDP’s channel.

Subscribe To PewDiePie is still going strong.
