Crytek’s shown us a glimpse of what the future may hold in terms of visuals. They showed a demo during GDC which included character shading, tessellation, character tessellation, ocean tessellation, advanced particle shading, real time reflections and enhanced lighting effects, alembic point cache support, Catmull-Clark compliant SubD surfaces and real time approximated area lights.
It also featured some high-end non-graphic stuff – dynamic AI navigation, high fidelity workflow. The company also gave a sneak peak of upcoming Crytek franchises.
