Pokemon Go is well on its way to becoming the most successful mobile game ever created, and it has been well received the world over. However, it’s not all fun and games since the game can get addicting to the point that you get distracted from real life scenarios.
A driver of a Toyota found that out the hard way when he got too engrossed in playing the game and hit a parked police patrol car in Baltimore, Maryland. Luckily, no one was inside the patrol car as the police were standing outside of it.
One police officer captured the incident through his body camera and the offending car actually stopped a little bit ahead. The footage shows the driver coming out of the car and strangely enough he was still playing the game.
The driver can be heard blaming the game for the incident saying, “That’s what I get for playing this dumbass game,” and police officers are seen inquiring if everyone was fine and unhurt. I can’t stress upon this enough: you need to be careful while playing this, or any game that requires you to travel to real world locations.
Make sure you do NOT play this while driving and always be aware of your surroundings. These kind of incidents look bad, and it’s only your fault that you get yourself into a situation like this. It can be easily avoided by drawing a fine line and following some basic rules. Stay safe, trainers.
