Although Ubisoft didn’t reveal the total number of copies sold, they mentioned that ‘millions of players’ were engaged in the The Division’s game world. We can assume from the statement that they have sold more than 1 million copies on the very first day of release.

Watch Dogs was Ubisoft’s previous record holder as it sold over 4 million copies in its first week. Now, with The Division breaking the first day sales record, it has every possibility of being Ubisoft’s bestseller.

The Division now sits in the second position of the list which features the best launches of new brands in the gaming industry. Activision’s Destiny occupies the first position followed by three Ubisoft titles viz. The Division, Watch Dogs and Assassin’s Creed, which launched back in 2007.
