There are a lot of great games in the pipeline for PS4, which means there are going to be some gems flying under the radar.
It’s been almost 3 years since Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice was first announced, but if this game hasn’t caught your eye yet – maybe it’s time? It was announced so early because Ninja Theory has been documenting the entire development process with a series of Dev Diaries that you can follow along with, it’s really fascinating stuff, gives you a look into “how the sausage is made” so to speak.
Here’s the playlist for the development diaries if you want to check them out:
By announcing the game so early, fans have been able to come along for the ride. By the time the game finally comes out, you’ll feel a connection to it already. Ninja Theory has a library of great games that don’t always get enough attention as they deserve, Enslaved is one such example. They also did DMC: Devil May Cry and Heavenly Sword, among others.
There’s not an officail release date yet, but it’s expected to drop sometime later this year. All of the patient waiting seems like it will be well worth it, check out this unofficial game play trailer put together by a fan:
The characters and enemies look really intense, the combat looks fun, and the setting is badass. One of the video editors working on the game also ended up being the inspiration for the main character, after helping to act out some scenes they decided she would be a perfect fit and now the main character in the game even looks like her. That’s a really cool perk for working on a game!
