Halo Co-Creator Forms New Studio With EA

Marcus Lehto, co-creator of the Halo series, is joining up with EA to form a new studio.

He announced on Twitter that he’ll be working as Game Director on a brand new first-person game. The new studio that’ll be working on the game will be based in Seattle, with EA overseeing the project.

Currently, no other details about Lehto’s new game are known, and it’s safe to assume it’ll be a while before the game is ready to be shown. Halo fans should be interested though, as Lehto contributed a lot to the creation of that series. He was even dubbed “the father of the Master Chief”.

EA will also be opening another new studio in Seattle, but details are scarce.

Fresh Start

Hopefully this new title will fare a little better than some of EA’s recent releases (I’m looking at you, Anthem). It’ll be interested to see what the Halo co-creator can do with a new studio, After all, Halo became one of the most beloved game franchises of all time.

We don’t know whether or not this project is aiming to make a similar impact, or really anything about it at all, so we’ll just have to wait a bit longer for more information. Lehto’s last game, Disintegration, didn’t manage to find its footing, and the studio closed shortly after the game’s servers were shut down. Let’s hope this new title can make a bigger splash in the industry.
