Hideo Kojima Explains Why Ground Zeroes Doesn’t Have A Platinum Trophy

If you’re expecting to rank up yet another platinum trophy for your PlayStation 4 or PlayStation 3 then don’t expect to get it from Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes. Hideo Kojima explains why players won’t be receiving the trophy title on the PlayStation 4 and most likely the same for the PlayStation 3.

As you may know, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes is a prequel to Kojima’s upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. With Phantom Pain being significantly bigger than Ground Zeroes and a title that only current generation consoles could handle, Ground Zeroes is going to be short. In fact, critics have been disappointed in the short play through the game offers. Players could in fact just complete the game in just hours during one sitting.

Because of the short gameplay, Kojima is only marking the game as $30 for both a physical and digital copy. Kojima explains that because of Sony’s regulations, any titles that are not fully priced are unable to release a platinum trophy along with the game.
