The news comes from the official playstation blog, the much anticipated system software update for the PS4 is being pushed tomorrow across all devices. Update 3.50 codenamed MUSASHI packs some exciting new features that have been requested by many gamers including enhanced ease of gameplay with friends and the ability to appear offline.
Here is a breakdown of all the new features contained within this update.
Appear Offline: Your profile tab will now contain in option called “Play Offline” which allows you to game or watch video in stealth mode without your friends seeing you. This could be useful if you don’t want people to know you spend 18 hours a day on your PS4.
Be Notified When Friends Appear Online: You can now choose to be notified when your squad is on, so you never miss out on the action. Press options and select “Notify When Online”
User Scheduled Events: You can now schedule and create an invitation for an upcoming gameplay session. This event can shared to any group or community so other gamers can join you. When the event starts registered gamers will be automatically added to the party.
Play Together: Now all party members can see who’s playing so you can find and join your friend’s games.
Remote Play PC/Mac: An expansion of remote play so you can play on your Mac or Windows PC.
The resolution options include 360p, 540p, and 720p and the Frame rates are Standard (30fps) and High (60fps). You can use one DualShock 4 as the controller for Remote Play, which needs to be connected to your PC / Mac via a USB cable. With PS4’s global sales having recently surpassed 35.9 million units this update is going to significantly effect the experience of a huge number of users around the globe.
PlayStation App version 3.50 is being released tomorrow too. The main new features of this update are User Scheduled Events, users can schedule gameplay sessions with friends, Dailymotion has been added to Live from PlayStation, and other players’ shared activities appear in your activities.
