Liberty City will soon be a part of Grand Theft Auto 5. This ambitious plan is being made by the makers of Grand Theft Auto modding tool OpenIV.
The team plans to line up the Grand Theft Auto 4 metropolis in GTA 5 alongside the already present Los Santos and Blaine County. The Liberty City will exist on the other side of the sea.
The group stated, “The Liberty City will not replace Los Santos or Blaine County, but appears across the sea. Using the power of OpenIV and openFormats, we was able to bring Liberty City right into GTA V map.”
The developers haven’t mentioned anything about the release date of the project yet nor they have released any screen or trailers. The FAQ on their webpage, however states that they are trying get it out as soon as possible.
They also added that the users will also need a copy of GTA 4, because the mod will convert the Liberty City from GTA 4 to GTA 5 because of its size and the unavailability of distribution rights of the games.
As Rockstar doesn’t allow mods in GTA Online, you won’t be able to play multiplayer using this mod. The mod will work with Episodes From Liberty City and you’ll need to make sure that you have a lot of hard disk space for it.
Here’s the teaser of the mod:
