New Mass Effect: Andromeda patch greatly improves this crucial feature of the game


The latest entry in this beloved franchise got off to a bit of a rocky start and the memes started flowing like wine. Now that a bit of time has passed, we’ve got a patch that addresses some of the initial concerns.

You’ve now got more inventory space for carrying things around, and there are some new graphical settings and options that have been added, but the big thing is the faces of the characters.

Andromeda was slammed relentlessly for how creepy and off some of the facial animations looked, and this new update actually makes a big difference.

It turns out, it was the eyes of the characters that were largely responsible for their weird looking expressions. They are the windows to the soul, after all, and people were complaining that the characters looked soulless.

It’s unfortunate that publishers have decided that the people who want to play a game right upon release are sometimes stuck with an inferior version. It’s great to get these patches out after a month or two or three, and we always welcome improvements, but sometimes you have to wonder if this could have been addressed before launch and the whole to-do could have been avoided altogether.
