Sony announced Gran Turismo 6 today at a small event held at Britain’s historied Silverstone by Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi to celebrate its 15-year anniversary.
Speculation suggested that the game would be coming to the PlayStation 3 only. Speaking with IGN, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi has informed them “We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind”
“We actually do have a PlayStation 4 version in mind, but for this holiday season, we thought it would be best for users to release on PS3 for now. I thought the best scenario would be to have the game come out, then to have new scenarios, new DLC and other updates. Once the players have thoroughly played out the system, if the PlayStation 4 version came out naturally, as part of that process, I think that would be the best scenario.”
And when asked if progress could be transferred from the PS3 version to a possible PS4 version, Yamauchi dished out a “probably”.
Gran Turismo 6 is expected to launch this year Holiday.
