Movies based on video games have been lack-luster to say the least, but it seems that has not stopped filmmakers from attempting to produce more movies based on video game IP’s.
An adaptation of classic PlayStation 2-era game Shadow of the Colossus has been in development at Sony Pictures for years. According to a report, it seems that Sony has found its director for their Shadow of the Colossus film. Reports state that Andres Muschietti (Mama) is set to direct the film adaptation. Screenwriter Seth Lochhead, who joined the project last summer, is still attached and is currently writing the screenplay with Muschietti supervising.
As mentioned, the film has been in the works since 2009 where is was being directed by Justin Marks since then it was took over by Josh Trank. Now with the latest director and word of Muschietti’s sister, Barbara Muschietti, being a producer of the film, we can hope the ball gets rolling on the film.
