Have you caught Pikachu in Pokémon Go yet? If not, this guide is for you. Here are the three best ways to catch Pikachu – you can thank us later.
1. Choose him as your starter Pokémon
This one is pretty simple, and by far the easiest if you’ve yet to play the game. When you’re able to catch your starter Pokémon, them being either Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle depending on which you tapped, ignore it. Proceed to do this every time you’re offered one of the three, and Pikachu will eventually show up. This is by far the easiest, albeit by far the least convenient for players already far into the game. For a more in depth how-to, head here. Choose this method if you’re comfortable with starting again, or you’re yet to begin playing.
2. Hatch Pikachu from a two kilometer egg
Perhaps the biggest grind of the three options, this will have you finding and hatching as many two kilometer eggs as you can possibly manage. The more you hatch, the more chances you’ll have of catching Pikachu – and when you eventually do hatch them, you’ll also receive a healthy supply of Pikechu candies, too. Because there’s no guarantee you’ll actually hatch a Pikachu, this could theoretically be the slowest of the three methods. Choose this method if you’re confident you have time to spare, and you’re alright with walking. A lot.
3. Use incense in a deserted area
This will have you following the same steps as our rare and uncommon Pokémon guide, although you’ll be wanting one Pokémon in particular – Pikachu. It’s probably the most rewarding of the three methods, because you’ll catch a tonne of rare Pokémon whilst you’re at it, as opposed to receiving whatever the two kilometer eggs would have hatched. Like the second option though, it can become a painfully lengthy process, because there’s no guarantee that a Pikachu will turn up here, either. Choose this method if you’re comfortable with being patient and are interested in finding a bunch of other useful Pokémon along the way.
Hopefully you’ll catch Pikachu using one of these methods, and if not, he’s bound to pop up eventually. As always, keep an eye on Fraghero for all the best Pokémon GO news, guides, and more.
