The Last of Us is one of the most cherished games released on the last generation console. The game received universal critical acclaim and was also a commercial success. The fans of the game have been asking Naughty Dog for a sequel for a long time now. They, however, are confused whether the sequel would have a completely original story or continue with the story of the first game.
Nothing has been ascertained as Naughty Dog hasn’t made any comments on this yet. However, popular gaming website GameSpot has been able to speak to Ashley Johnson, who was the voice actor for Ellie in The Last of Us, and she expressed her desire to come back and work for the sequel as well.
She said, “I feel like if they were to pursue it again, if they were to have another story for Ellie or Joel or that whole world, I would totally jump on board.”
“But you know there’s also a part of me that thinks, ‘Man, the story could stand alone,’ and sometimes we should just leave it alone. If they were to make another one, though, I would love to be a part of it,” she added while speaking to GameSpot.
While asked about The Last of Us movie, which is currently facing production issues, Johnson said that she would want to see it come to life. She was even asked whether she would appear in the movie to which she jokingly replied, “Yeah, I’d be a clicker.”
The Last of Us movie was proposed a couple of years back and it hasn’t progressed since then at all. Neil Druckmann, director of Naughty Dog, said earlier that he was a writer in it. He however added that the Uncharted movie will also take some serious time as the progress was minimal.
Would you love to see a continuation of the story or a fresh new story for the next The Last of Us game? Let us know.
