Ubisoft Devs Call Out Uncharted 4 Trailer For Stealing Assassin’s Creed Art, Naughty Dog Responds

Uncharted 4 is shaping up to be an incredible game. Recently, Naughty Dog released a new trailer for it and man, did it turn heads of fans…and Ubisoft.

Unfortunately, it seems Naughty Dog liked a piece of Assassin’s Creed concept art a bit too much. Seen below is what we’re talking about..

Here’s the shot from the trailer:

They’re a bit.. Similar? Now, a Ubisoft developer called out this part of the trailer on Twitter, seen below:

Another Ubisoft developer called out a former Ubisoft developer, who’s now a Naughty Dog developer.. Quite the mouthful.

Naughty Dog has swapped out the trailer, the new one doesn’t have the AC artwork of course, and made this statement:

In our eagerness to get the story trailer out we made a regrettable mistake and didn’t thoroughly vet the art work used for an in game painting. We’ve already updated the trailer. We hold all artistry in high regard and take full responsibility for having allowed this to happen.

We want to sincerely apologize to everyone at Ubisoft, the Assassin’s Creed team, the original artist, and our fans.

Nice to see Naughty Dog accepting responsibility and correcting it. Uncharted 4 is looking to be a 2016 Game of the Year candidate, which is no easy task considering the amazing games coming this year.
