Red Dead Redemption 2 release date accidentally leaked by major UK retailer

Rockstar Games are keeping their lips shut on most details about Red Dead Redemption 2. With the game anticipated to launch this year, it appears that the game’s official release date may have just been leaked.

Recently, a retailer based in the United Kingdom called Base, accidentally revealed the game’s release date on their website. According to them, Red Dead Redemption 2 is set to launch on Tuesday, September 26th, 2017. It is very plausible that this may be the actual release date, given the fact that the promotional poster for the game announced that the game will be here in the Fall 2017, with the game anticipated to hit stores during Q3 or Q4 this year. It is also worth noting that Tuesdays tend to be the day when video games usually hit retail stores.

Now I know what you are thinking, perhaps it was just a fluke, right? Well, I did some research on their website, and looked at the release dates for upcoming games such as Crackdown 3 and Days Gone, and both games say that they have a placeholder date (12/31/2017), making it a bit more convincing that perhaps the retailer got the first word of the release date, and accidentally announced it when they weren’t supposed to. It’s an underwhelming way to announce a release date, and Rockstar probabally aren’t thrilled.
