Xbox Scorpio was unexpectedly revealed at the end of Microsoft’s 2016 E3 briefing, and so far, it’s been one of the most exciting moments of E3 for many. The Xbox Scorpio is most exciting for the fact that it’s supposed to be the most powerful console ever made – boasting incredible features such as 4K/VR gaming, 6 teraflops of GPU power, and more.
Just how much more powerful is the Scorpio than it’s predecessor, though? Phil Spencer knows the answer – 4.5 times more powerful. Speaking in an interview with Giant Bomb, Spencer stated the following:
Scorpio is more powerful than the original Xbox [One], four-and-a-half times.
The PS4 Neo (Sony’s Scorpio, if you will) will only be about 2.25 times more powerful than the original PS4, clocking in at a little over 4 teraflops. This means that the Scorpio will be approximately 40% more powerful than the Neo – essentially turning the tables on Sony, who as of this moment of time have the upper hand in terms of the most powerful console.
Xbox Scorpio is set to launch Holiday 2017, and as of this moment, there aren’t any prices available.
